Wasted Day for the Mountaineers…And the Broadcasters

One never expects to take a trip into Florida in late May and experience a week full of rain.    That has what has occured this week in Clearwater.    The first casualty of the weather was the home run hitting contest scheduled for the opening ceremonies Monday night.   Rain has also put the tournament 2 1/2 games behind after two days.   They did manage to get three of the four games played on day one Tuesday.    But just two full games were played on Wednesday.     One of the games post-poned was the WVU/Pitt losers bracket game.   At least for the WVU broadcast crew, Wednesday was a day wasted watching it rain at the ballpark and hotel and spending time in a book store trying to kill time.   Hopefully Thursday will be a different story.     Check back in with us then as the Mountaineers are now scheduled to play their second game at 1 p.m.
