Goard Transferring From OU

MetroNews has learned former George Washington High School star forward TyQuane Goard is transferring from Ohio University after playing there for one season. Goard received limited playing time and averaged only 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Last season as a senior at George Washington, Goard led the Patriots to the Class AAA State Championship. The 6-foot-7 Charleston native was present at the Charleston Civic Center during Friday’s evening session of the WVSSAC State Tournament and wasn’t with the Bobcats when they knocked of Michigan in the NCAA Tournament.

The two most likely destinations for Goard are VCU and the University of Delaware.

On Saturday night, Goard’s alma mater will take on Hedgesville and will try and defend their title in the Class AAA State Championship game.
