The respect West Virginia has gained by moving to the Big 12 Conference and scoring 70 points in the Orange Bowl is paying off in the polls. On Thursday, West Virginia was ranked 11th in the USA Today Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll.
WVU is the second highest ranked Big 12 team in poll. The only team ranked higher is Oklahoma (No. 4). A total of six teams from the Big 12 are ranked in the poll. The SEC is the only conference with more teams with seven teams.
