A third arrest has been made in connection with the death of Brandy Marie Adams on Sept. 20 in Parkersburg.
Following an interview with Parkersburg police detectives Thursday evening, Crystal Dawn Smith was taken into custody for her alleged role in Adam’s death.
Adams body was found in the trunk of her own car last week in a wash bay of the Seventh Street Car Wash.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court, detectives allege that around Sept. 20 Smith conspired with Arthur Thornton and Victor Thompson to move Adams’ body from the place of her death, a trailer in the Meadowbrook Trailer Park, to a wash bay of the Seventh Street Car Wash.
The three suspects allegedly placed Adams’ body in the trunk of her own car and drove to the car wash. The criminal complaint also says the use of illegal drugs contributed to Adams’ death.
Thornton and Thompson were arrested shortly after the crime and have been charged for their role in the incident.
Smith was officially charged with felony concealing a deceased human body and felony conspiracy to conceal a deceased human body. She was to be arraigned Thursday night.
An autopsy was performed on Adams’ body but no official cause of death was determined. Toxicology reports are still pending.
