Attempted Murder Charges In Morgantown

Morgantown Police arrested two men Friday and charged them with attempted first-degree murder in connection to a stabbing in downtown Morgantown on Nov. 30.

Troy Francis Willet, 21, and Joseph Patrick Burel, 22, are also charged with malicious wounding and conspiracy after police say they stabbed Juan Guerra Jr., 20, on High Street.

That stabbing happened at 3:15 a.m. on High Street, police said.

Guerra underwent surgery for his injuries at Ruby Memorial Hospital.  He was later released.

At the time, the suspect was described as a white male wearing a black t-shirt.

After investigating, Morgantown Police identified two individuals who were involved as Willet and Burel.  Police worked with the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force in the case.
