Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg explains how the Cyclones executed the game-winning possession, which resulted in Will Clyburn’s drive-and-dish to Georges Niang for a layup with 2.5 seconds left.
“Both (defenders) ended up going with Will, and I didn’t think he saw Georges at first,” Hoiberg said. “But then he made heck of a play.
“It was a great roll by Georges. He saw the space and Will found him at the perfect time. Then Georges finished and ran into Cyclone Alley and didn’t run back on defense and made me a little nervous.”
