Death in Huntington bar shooting

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man was shot and killed during an altercation in a Huntington bar early Friday morning.

The shooting happened inside Gary’s Place on 10th Avenue at around 1 a.m.

Witnesses said they heard six to eight shots fired and then people inside the crowded bar began to panic.

The victim, 23-year-old Deangelo Erquhart, was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.

Huntington police are investigating.
