One of two men identified from Kanawha County surveillance photos

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Investigators say they believe one of the two men seen in surveillance video with a Kanawha County woman who is now charged with murder was not involved in the crime itself.

Detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department interviewed the man, whose name is not being released, after photos of him with Kelsey Marie Legg, 20, of Marmet, were released to the public so he could be identified this week.

The photos were taken from surveillance video at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Kanawha City on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

Investigators said the man did do remodeling work at Legg’s apartment, but he was not believed to be involved in the murder of Kareem Hunter of Charleston who was last seen on Sept. 23.  The man’s level of involvement is still under investigation.

Legg’s brother, Matt, told investigators he heard a disturbance on Sept. 23 in his sister’s apartment and later saw two men putting a body in the trunk of a car.

The criminal complaint against Legg alleges her apartment had been cleaned and repainted and the carpet had been replaced, but blood stains and splatters were still found there.

Legg turned herself in to deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department last Saturday night.  She is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a felony murder charge.
