2015 North-South football coaches announced

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Bob Mullett, game director of the West Virginia Athletic Coaches Association’s North-South Football Classic, has announced the head coaches for its 2015 event.

Mike Young of Wheeling Central Catholic High School will lead the North Bears. He has served as the Maroon Knights head football coach since 2005. His teams have won five Class A state championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011. He is a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, West Liberty University and Marshall University.


Luke Salmons of Cabell Midland High School will guide the South Cardinals. He has been the head football coach of the Knights since 2011. Salmons led Cabell Midland to a 10-2 record last season and advanced to the Class AAA quarterfinals. He is a graduate of Ravenswood High School and Marshall University, where he served as a team captain for the Thundering Herd.


The 2015 West Virginia Athletic Coaches Association’s North-South Football Classic will kickoff at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 at University of Charleston Stadium/Laidley Field in Charleston.
