Charleston man taken into custody in alleged toddler abduction

HAYMARKET, Va. — Police arrested a Charleston man late Thursday night in the abduction of a child after an Amber Alert was issued.

Aaron Matthew Taylor allegedly abducted his son, 20-month-old Jaxson Patel.

An emergency alert went out statewide and in Charleston Thursday night until both were recovered in Haymarket, Va., by Virginia state police.

Jaxson was believed to be in extreme danger, police said.

Jaxson was described as a mixed-race 20-month-old boy who was last seen at 1610 Berrywood in Charleston.
