ELKINS, W.Va.–Dr. Michael P. Mihalyo Jr., president of Davis & Elkins College the past two years, has been named president of the Appalachian College Association.
The ACA is a non-profit organization of 35 private four-year colleges and universities. Mihalyo will compete his fourth year at D&E before starting his new position on July 1 in Richmond, Ky.
The board of trustees released a statement wishing Mihalyo well and thanking him for his leadership. Mihalyo said the decision was not easy but it was one he could not pass up.
Davis & Elkins College is a Presbyterian affiliated school located in Elkins.
