Concord, WVU Tech presidents meet in Beckley to talk collaboration

BECKLEY, W.Va — A meeting took place Wednesday in Beckley between Concord University President Kendra Boggess and WVU Tech President Carolyn Long.

Boggess said in a statement to MetroNews:

“We met with Carolyn Long and her Provost Nigel Clark in a fact-finding meeting to determine how we can cooperate and collaborate in the future. No decisions were made, just an exploratory meeting.”

WVU Beckley plans to move WVU Tech from Montgomery to Beckley by 2017.

Boggess earlier told MetroNews Concord wants to work with WVU Tech to thrive and come up with better kinds of programs in the area.

No other information was released about Wednesday’s meeting.

WVU hopes to offer classes at WVU Beckley by next fall and by fall 2017 for WVU Tech on the Beckley campus.
