Monongalia pharmacy robbery suspect will be charged

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The suspect in a Monongalia County pharmacy robbery will be charged after treatment for an apparent drug overdose.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, is accused of threatening Pineview Drive CVS workers that he had a gun and demanded prescriptions.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, he made off with some of the medicines he demanded which included Xanax, Oxycodone and amphetamines.

Thursday’s robbery happened about 12:20 p.m. The man was described has having a distinct scar on his left cheek.

Deputies found the suspect in the Pineview Drive area a short time later. He was carrying a CVS bag with some of the medications that had been demanded.

Upon his release from Ruby Memorial Hospital, the suspect will be charged with armed robbery, police said.
