Fairmont men arrested in Marion County armed robbery investigation

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Two men have been arrested in connection to a Sunday armed robbery in Marion County

Nathan-Knight-Arrest-300x118Nathan Robert Knight, 22, of Fairmont, and Anthony Weingard, 24, are accused of holding up the Rich Oil Gas store on Pennsylvania Avenue in Fairmont at approximately 10 p.m. January 3.

Police say Knight was a regular customer who robbed the store at knife point, while Weingard kept watch outside. The two fled on foot with $285.00 in cash.

Once captured, $25 of the stolen monies were recovered along the route the Wiegardsuspects fled. Based on statements made following their arrest, it is believed that two purchased and consumed crack cocaine with the remaining proceeds from their criminal activity

Both men are facing a first degree robbery charge.
