Two men arrested in Columbus in connection with Beckley nightclub fatal shooting

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Two men wanted in connection with a deadly shooting outside a Beckley nightclub last month were arrested in Columbus, Ohio within 24 hours of each other.

Charmaine Kent, 25, has been arraigned in Raleigh County and is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail without bond, after he was arrested Thursday night.

On Friday, Christopher Jones was arrested in Columbus by members of the U.S. Marshal Service Task Force.

It could be a few weeks before he is extradited back to the Mountain State, police said.

Jones and Kent are both charged with first degree murder, 10 counts of wanton endangerment, and two counts of malicious wounding in the death of 21-year-old Chante Shyvers.

Jones is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Two others were also injured in the incident, when Jones and Kent allegedly fired into a crowd outside the bar on Neville Street in Beckley.
