Woman charged in murder claims self defense

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A woman charged with second degree murder in Mercer County claims her action was in self defense.

A Mercer County magistrate found probable cause in the case of Frances Glover, 39, in the stabbing death of Angela Gillespie. The incident occurred last week at Gillespie’s home in Lashmeet.

Glover’s attorney asked the magistrate to lower her bond because of the self defense claim. The motion was denied. The case was bound over to the next Mercer County grand jury.
