Woman charged after biting Morgantown police officers

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two Morgantown police officers had to receive treatment and a woman faces charges in a Sunday morning incident downtown.

Officers reported they observed the suspect attempting to strike a worker outside LUX Nightclub on Wall Street.

When officers intervened, Meghan Delores Losh, 20, “she began to fight the officers by kicking while she was handcuffed,” according to Police Chief Ed Preston.

Losh had to be physically removed and taken to a squad car because she “refused to comply with the instructions of the officers and continued to try to pull away or drop to the ground to avoid being transported.”

Losh is accused of biting one officer while being placed in the squad car.

Preston added the “suspect continued to be belligerent and while she was being processed and transported to the Sheriff’s Office to await arraignment, where she bit a second officer.”

Losh was charted with 2 counts of battery on a police officer, resisting and obstructing officers, underage possession and consumption of alcohol, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

The Martinsburg woman was held on a $25,000 bond.
