CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Wood County woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly robbing two banks in northcentral West Virginia last year.

Martin, 31, of Davisville, was arrested in Parkersburg less than 2 weeks after the December 2016 Morgantown robbery.

Christine Joy Martin, 31, of Davisville, has been charged with “unarmed bank robbery” in connection with the Nov. 4, 2016, robbery at the Huntington Bank in Fairmont and the Dec. 20, 2016, holdup at a United Bank branch in Morgantown.

Martin was arrested in a Parkersburg motel about two weeks after the Morgantown robbery.

The indictment alleges Martin stole about $3,000.

Martin faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count if convicted.
