Thrasher Group acquires Monongalia County firm

WADESTOWN, W.Va. — The Thrasher Group announced Thursday the acqusition of a Monongalia County-based survey, mapping, and engineering firm, making the company one of the largest of its kind on the east coast.

“We are very excited to welcome Blue Mountain into the Thrasher family. Blue Mountain has earned a great reputation in the energy industry and their mapping services are second to none,” said The Thrasher Group CEO Chad M. Riley, PE.

Blue Mountain, Inc., established in 1991, is located in Wadestown in Monongalia County. A Thrasher rep called the company “a respected consultant for a variety of natural gas, mining, and governmental clients throughout the Appalachian region.”

They employed more than 100 people at the time of the acqisition, according to a Thrasher Group rep.

The acquisition makes Thrasher Group one of the largest survey providers in the region, employing more than 200 survey professionals.
