MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia coach Bob Huggins said the Mountaineers won’t have junior guard Beetle Bolden available for Saturday’s game at Baylor.
“No, he’s still banged up,” Huggins said Thursday.
Bolden suffered a high ankle sprain on Jan. 26 against Tennessee and has missed the last six games.
He’s averaging a career-high 12.2 points per game and is regarded as the best perimeter scorer for the Mountaineers (10-16, 2-11).
West Virginia will be down four starters against Baylor (17-9, 8-5), with center Sagaba Konate missing the last 17 games with a knee injury and forwards Esa Ahmad and Wes Harris being dismissed.
Harris has since entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal and has one season of eligibility remaining.
The Bears beat West Virginia 85-73 on Jan. 21, a game in which Bolden came off the bench to score 22 points.
The Mountaineers are 3-3 all-time at the Ferrell Center in Waco.
