Investigation continues into weekend shooting

DELLSLOW, W.Va. — Authorities have not released the name of the victim of an early Saturday morning shooting in Monongalia County.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of 3315 Earl L. Core Road at the Exotica Life Gentleman’s Club.

According to Sheriff Perry Palmer, one person was shot and transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle. The victim was treated for a wound to an extremity.

No other injuries are reported.

Deputies requested assistance from surrounding law enforcement agencies to secure the scene of the shooting. Morgantown, Granville, and Star City police departments also responded.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division is still investigating.

No further information will be released while the incident is still under investigation.
