MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia continues to rise in the college basketball polls.
The Mountaineers (10-1) are now 22nd in the Associated Press poll, moving up three spots following a road win at Youngstown State.
West Virginia is also ranked in the USA Today coaches poll for the first time this season, checking in at No. 23 in that poll.
The Mountaineers maintained the 10th spot in the NCAA’s NET rankings, which the selection committee uses as one of its primary tools for seeding the NCAA tournament.
West Virginia’s biggest challenge looms in its next game. The Mountaineers will play Ohio State on, which is ranked No. 2 in both polls, on Sunday. The game is at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
