Marshall starting QB enters transfer portal

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University’s starting quarterback for the last two seasons has entered the transfer portal.

Isaiah Green is entering his name in the database of student athletes interested in transferring to another school. Green appeared in 23 games for the Herd over the last two seasons, starting 22 of those contests.

Green started his freshman and sophomore seasons for the Thundering Herd.  Green, who is entering his junior year, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He threw for 4,897 yards and 30 touchdowns with 21 interceptions. He also rushed for 416 yards with 6 scores coming on the ground.

Four quarterbacks remain on the Marshall roster. George Washington High School alumnus Grant Wells is entering his redshirt freshman season. Huntington High School graduate Luke Zban, Joel Lambiotte and Eli Sammons round out the rest of the candidates for the starting spot.

Marshall is scheduled to open their 2020 season at East Carolina on August 29.
