Only family members will be allowed at early-season H.S. football games

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVSSAC member schools received guidance late Friday regarding attendance for high school sports competitions and extracurricular activities. At least for the first two weeks of football season, only family members of players and coaches will be permitted to attend games.

The West Virginia Department of Education updated their School re-entry Metrics and Protocols page with similar guidance. For counties in the ‘green’ category, immediate household family members are permitted entry. For counties in the ‘yellow’ category, only parents/guardians may attend. No competitions are allowed if a county is in the ‘orange’ or ‘red’ category.

Attendance guidelines will be revisited after the second week of contests, which ends September 12.
