CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state overall daily positivity test rate for coronavirus dipped to 1.52% in information released Monday by the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
It represents the lowest daily rate since 1.18% on Aug. 22.
West Virginia also continues to trend downward in the estimated rate of spread, called the Rt Value, to .86. That’s the second lowest in the nation, only Nebraska is lower.
There were 114 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday by the DHHR. The agency also added three deaths including a 53-year old female from Kanawha County, an 86-year old female from Kanawha County, and a 70-year old female from Putnam County.
There are currently 4,330 active cases in the state with 165 of those cases requiring hospitalization. Sixty of the 165 are ICU with 28 being treated on ventilators.
