West Virginia State Police investigating murder-suicide in Harrison County

GOOD HOPE PIKE, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police are investigating a Harrison County double-homicide as now a murder-suicide.

According to the WVSP, Wesley Alan Wayne, 41, and girlfriend Kara Bennett, 39, both of Good Hope Pike, died from single gunshot wounds. Investigators believe Wayne shot Bennett then turned the gun on himself at a Good Hope Pike residence sometime Wednesday.

According to a press release, police were searching for Wayne who had outstanding felony warrants. The release says law enforcement was looking for a stolen vehicle from Braxton County, as well as a stolen gun, and were also there to serve a domestic battery warrant on Wayne.

WBOY-TV reported the Bridgeport Detachment of the WVSP, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison County EMS, Anmoore Fire Department, and the Spelter Fire Department all responded to the scene.
