WHEELING, W.Va. — The victim of a fiery fatal multi-vehicle crash in Wheeling on Sunday night has been identified as a Pennsylvania woman.
Wheeling Police Department said Adanela Lillian Santana, 27 of Harrisburg, Pa. was killed in the three vehicle crash that occurred on 6:15 p.m. on Interstate 470 near Elm Grove.
Santana was the driver of a passenger vehicle. Two other people in the passenger car were injured in the crash and have since been treated and released from Wheeling Hospital.
Wheeling Police told MetroNews a driver of a tractor-trailer was also injured and has since been treated and released. The third vehicle involved in the crash was a Penske rental truck and it caught fire. The driver of that vehicle was unharmed.
Traffic was stopped on the interstate for several hours and the scene was not clear until nearly 11:00 p.m.
Wheeling Police officials are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
The WV Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim in Sunday’s multi-vehicle crash on I-470 as Adanela Lillian Santana, 27 of Harrisburg, Pa. 3 others injured in the crash have since been treated and released from the hospital. WPD continues to investigate a cause.
