Safety Christion Stokes becomes 13th member of WVU’s Class of 2022

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU continues to secure verbal commitments in the Class of 2022 at a steady rate. On Saturday, Christion Stokes became the eighth future Mountaineer to commit in the last five weeks. Stokes is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety from Harper Woods High School in Michigan.

Stokes received a scholarship offer from West Virginia on April 8, 2020. He also holds offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Iowa, Kansas, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Syracuse, Toledo, Western Michigan. Stokes visited Morgantown in early-June and also took official visits to Iowa and Michigan State last month.

Stokes is listed as a 3-star recruit by Rivals. He is the 13th verbal commitment WVU’s next recruiting class.
