Tractor trailer crash closes I-79 north near Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A tractor accident has shutdown the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 near the Monongalia/Marion County line.

The semi went over an embankment around 4 a.m. prompting the closure. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Northbound traffic has backed up to Fairmont.

Motorists has using the East Fairmont exit to head north but that’s also backed up. Traffic is now being diverted off of the downtown Fairmont exit.
