BASE Jumpers have notified the Bridge Day Commission they’ll not participate in this year’s event over fears of putting to large a strain on local hospitals. Active Covid cases are going down in West Virginia–but the hospitalizations continue to rise and now stand at 1,000 for the first time. Mercer County becomes the second county in WV to put in place an indoor mask mandate. Mental health officials say they’ve seen a significant jump in requests for emotional support amid the ongoing Covid pandemic. The trial of man charged with killing a Charleston police officer will not stand trial until January.
