Authorities release more information about Summersville shooting

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — Summersville authorities have released more information regarding a Thursday evening shooting at a nail salon.

According to the Summersville Police Department, 52-year-old Patrick Wayne Cater shot Khuyen Van Le and Phi Anh Le at Jo’s Nails and Spa. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m.

Summersville Police Lt. Alec Anderson said Friday two officers responded to the shooting, “engaged the shooter, shot him and neutralized the threat.”

Officers noted Cater was pronounced dead at Summersville Regional Medical Center. The victims died at the scene of the shooting.

West Virginia State Police are leading an investigation.
