Guidry was hired in 2021 as part of Head Coach Charles Huff’s first coaching staff at Marshall. This past season, Marshall boasted one of the top defenses in the Sun Belt Conference. Marshall was the best defense in the country on third down. Opponents converted just 23.5 percent of third down attempts against the Herd. It ranked 6th nationally in scoring defense allowing 16 points a game and was third in the country in passing efficiency defense.
Guidry is a graduate of McNeese State University and spent six season on staff there, including three years as Cowboys’ head coach. Guidry also has stops at Leesville and Carencro High Schools in Louisiana.
Guidry will replace Tulane Defensive Coordinator Chris Hampton who is leaving to join the coaching staff at Oregon.
