Grand jury will hear case of Huntington murder suspect Brock Meade

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — One of the two brothers facing charges in the murder case of Chrystina Judd went through a preliminary hearing Friday and his case is moving to a grand jury.

Brock Meade, 23, of Huntington, has been charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a deceased body. He is connected to the case of Judd who went missing in Huntington in September 2021. Brock allegedly shot and killed Judd on Sept. 7, 2021.

Brock Meade is accused of working with his brother, Tucker Meade. The two allegedly moved Judd’s body to Carter County, Kentucky. Judd’s body wasn’t found until May 2023, when mushroom hunters discovered the body along the AA highway, according to Huntington police officer Steve Fitz who testified at the hearing. Judd was able to be identified by dental records.

Investigators said that Brock Meade had admitted to killing the woman and that he asked for help from his brother to conceal the body. The statement from Tucker Meade said that two put the body into a sleeping bag and loaded it into Brock’s SUV.

The statement added that the brothers had no plan of where they were going to hide the body. Fitz said that after crossing state lines into Kentucky, the two decided to conceal the body with loose debris along the highway.

According to investigators, a sexual encounter may have occurred between Judd and Brock Meade, but that has not been confirmed or denied.

Brock also told witnesses that Judd tried stabbing him with a knife during a previous encounter, but there’s been no knife found. Blood samples were taken from Brock’s apartment and have been linked to Judd.

Investigators said they have yet to recover the weapon used to kill the victim.
