The Bears led wire-to-wire, improving to 2-5 on the season. Bagent rushed three times for 24 yards. Bagent connected with D’Onta Foreman on a 5-yard touchdown toss in the third quarter, giving the Bears a 21-3 lead.
Last week, Bagent came on in relief of Justin Fields. He went 10-of-14 for 83 yards and also rushed for a TD.
Bagent was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent and he quickly surpassed P.J. Walker and Nathan Peterman on the Bears’ depth chart to earn the No. 2 spot at the start of the season.
Bagent led Shepherd to NCAA Division II semifinal appearances in 2021 and 2022. He also led Martinsburg to Class AAA state championships in 2016 and 2017.
