Crash leaves two teens severely injured in Preston County

REEDSVILLE, W.Va. — Two Preston High School students are hospitalized and recovering from serious injuries after a Friday car wreck.

The students, a male and female, were riding together on their way to school around 7:10 a.m. Friday when their vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle on Route 7. The crash happened just east of the Reedsville community near Morgan Funeral Home.

Preston County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating, but have not released the names of the victims. The female was flown by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition. The male student was taken to the hospital by ambulance and remains in stable condition.

The other vehicle involved in the crash was driven by a man who had several children as passengers. It appeared none of the occupants of the second vehicle was hurt.

A cause for the crash is not known.

The Preston High basketball game Friday night with North Marion was postponed out of respect for the families and friends of the victims.
