Fayette County man charged in Morgantown rape

Jordan Gray

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown police have arrested a Fayette County man and charged him with the sexual assault of an intoxicated woman in Morgantown earlier this year.

Jordan Gray, 25, of Scarbro, W.Va. is charged with sexual assault for the incident which occurred outside a Morgantown nightclub March 3rd.

The criminal complaint claimed the woman was highly intoxicated when she met Gray inside the club. The two left the establishment together. According to investigators the woman was so intoxicated she could barely stand. Gray helped support her until they got behind the club where police said he forcibly removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her behind the building.

The criminal complaint also stated at the end of the encounter, Gray “lost his grip” on the victim and she fell to the ground face-first. Police said Gray was unable to pick her up and walked away, leaving her there.

He’s lodged in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
