Smoke detectors may have saved lives in Logan fire

LOGAN, W.Va. — Logan firefighters say working smoke detectors may have saved lives in an early Saturday morning structure fire.

The fire was reported a 2:22 a.m. Saturday on Heritage Lane in the Sunbeam area of Logan.

Those who were inside the home at the time told firefighters that smoke detectors woke them up. Everyone made it out safely.

Crews with the City of Logan Fire Department were able to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
