Longtime Harrison County officeholder Albert Marano has died

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Former Harrison County sheriff and current Harrison County Clerk Albert Marano has died after a battle with cancer.

Marano served the law enforcement community for more than 30 years in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff, chief deputy, and served two terms as Harrison County sheriff. He was elected as sheriff for the first time in 2008 and again in 2012. He was elected as Harrison County Clerk in 2016.

He was a lifelong resident of the Clarksburg community and served on the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Sheriff’s Association for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly, and their two daughters, Sara and Gina.
