Jackknifed log truck stalls southbound traffic on I-79 in Harrison County

LOST CREEK, W.Va. — Interstate 79 south in Harrison County remained closed Thursday afternoon as crews clean-up what’s left after a tractor trailer carrying logs jackknifed at about 11:30 a.m.

The wreck happeed two miles south of the Lost Creek exit, not far from the Jane Lew exit.

Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for a period of time but northbound lanes were reopened.

Southbound traffic is detouring off the interstate at Lost Creek, onto Lost Creek Road, and then on to Jane Lew where motorists can get back on I-79 background.

There was no word on how long it would take to get the southbound lanes cleared.
