Huntington man sentenced to 12 years in prison for role in drug trafficking organization

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Cabell County man is set to spend 12 years behind bars for distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Geon Lavell Henderson, 53, was sentenced Monday for after admitting to participating in a drug trafficking organization in the Huntington area.

The DOJ release said Henderson entered a guilty plea for selling around 110 grams of methamphetamine and 1.9 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant on April 9, along with arranging another controlled substance sale on April 17 connected to an informant.

Authorities said Henderson, also known as “Money,” is one of 10 defendants indicted from the organization. Henderson is one of five defendants who pleaded guilty to the charges.
