Police: Woman stabs husband in Fairmont

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A 76-year-old Fairmont woman is behind bars accused of stabbing her husband Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the call on Five Forks Road and found blood on the door and porch. The man who answered the door had a bandaged arm and appeared to be confused.

EMS on the scene unwrapped the bandage and found large gashes to the arm. The wounds had to be rewrapped immediately to control the bleeding.

According to police, the victim’s wife, Juanita Satterfield, screamed at deputies to leave her house and refused to comply with commands.

The victim told deputies his wife had stabbed him with a kitchen knife that morning.

Adult Protective Services was also notified.

Satterfield has been charged with malicious wounding and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
