Roane County Schools locked down Wednesday afternoon after threat

SPENCER, W.Va. — Roane County Schools were under lockdown on Wednesday afternoon after a threat was made at one of the schools.

As a precaution, all schools in the district were locked down with troopers at each school. The lockdown was lifted around 1:20 p.m., according to State Police.

No other details as to the nature of the threat have been released.
