Man arrested after allegedly pointing gun at motorist while driving recklessly

ELKINS, W.Va. — A Barbour County man is under arrest after police say he showed a weapon to another driver after driving erratically.

Kevin L. Moore, 48, of Belington, is charged with one count of brandishing a deadly weapon.

The original call came in to 911 placed by a motorist initially concerned about Moore’s alleged reckless driving, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.

As the incident progressed, the motorist alleged that Moore pointed a shotgun at them from the driver’s side window.

Police located Moore driving in the Elkins area and initiated a traffic stop with assistance from the Elkins Police Department and State Police.

A 12 gauge shotgun was recovered from the vehicle during the investigation.
