Upshur County man faces second degree murder charges

CRAWFORD, W.Va. — The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department has a man in custody in connection to an alleged murder over the weekend in the southern portion of the county.

Timothy “TJ” Wilson Jr., 35, is charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of Roger Haymond Sr., 65.

The two allegedly had a physical altercation Saturday night. According to police, when Wilson struck Haymond in the head, Haymond died instantly. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Wilson is currently in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a cash only $750,000 bond.
