Isreal arrives at WVU, Hardy reportedly expected mid-August

West Virginia recruit David Isreal tweeted about his arrival on Saturday night.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former Butler (Kan.) Community College quarterback David Isreal announced his arrival at West Virginia on Saturday night, tweeting a photo of the new nameplate on his locker.

Isreal joined Lackawanna College offensive lineman Isaiah Hardy as the final two holdouts from this year’s signing class.

Hardy, according to a report from Rivals.com’s Keenan Cummings, won’t enroll until fall semester classes begin Aug. 16, a delay that will cause the 6-foot-7, 330-pounder to miss half of WVU’s preseason practices.

Isreal and Hardy each have three years remaining to play two.

Isreal is one of only three scholarship quarterbacks expected to be eligible on the Mountaineers’ roster this season, behind Will Grier and Chris Chugunov. Former Miami four-star recruit Jack Allison must sit out 2017 under NCAA transfer rules.

The Mountaineers open preseason camp Sunday afternoon.
