High school boys basketball power index: Jan. 16

 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Martinsburg (12-0) retained their top spot in this week’s MetroNews boys basketball power index sponsored by Dominion Post Live. The Bulldogs are the first team in any class to reach the 12-win mark. Hurricane (10-2) is second, Hedgesville (10-2) is third and upstart Cabell Midland (8-1) is fourth.

Week 2 boys power index

Bluefield (8-0) is the top-ranked Class AA squad. The Beavers are fifth and they are the only remaining undefeated squad in AA. George Washington (9-1), Chapmanville (11-1), University (8-3), Fairmont Senior (9-1) and Logan (11-1) round out the top ten.

Notre Dame (9-1) is the top-ranked team among the Class A schools. The Irish are 31st in the index. Webster County (11-0) is the only remaining undefeated team in Class A.
