W.Va. International Auto Show underway in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The 20th edition of West Virginia International Auto Show begins Friday at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

New cars, trucks and SUVs from multiple manufacturers will be on display for motorheads to see, including new vehicles from Audio, Mercedes, Ford and Jeep.

Ruth Lemmon, the president of the West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, said this is the greatest opportunity for people interested in cars to see what will be hitting the roads soon.

“We’ve got the best of the products here,” she said.

Among the new cars that have Lemmon’s attention is the Jeep Gladiator, a new mid-sized truck from Fiat Chrysler.

“(It’s) going to be such a hit for West Virginia,” she added.

This is also Lemmon’s last auto show as president of the WVATDA; she will leave the position after 35 years at the helm.

“It’s bittersweet, but it’s just been so wonderful,” she said. “I’ve told everybody I’ve had the best job, that it’s not even a job. It’s an opportunity.”

The show will be open between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Ticket information can be found on the auto show’s website.
