MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Monongalia County Schools is receiving assistance from Bartini Prime with the school system’s bagged lunch delivery service.
Volunteers prepared around 2,000 meals a day for students last week, but Superintendent Eddie Campbell said it was challenging because of home-staffing issues.
“We knew we were not going to be able to continue to do this with our own folks,” he said.
Meals will be delivered to the 15 most popular bus stops in the county.
Justin Byers with Bartini Prime also directed people to https://www.feedmonkids.com about getting the food they need.
“As long as we have your phone number, we have a different set of people that will help get to the people that cannot get to the bus stop,” he said.
Byers also noted the need for enough volunteers for people to work in shifts and allow quarantine periods as needed.
Sysco and Mona Supply are providing refrigerated trucks for Bartini Prime and volunteers to utilize.
