HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall Health Network CEO Dr. Kevin Yingling has informed the network’s board of directors that he plans to retire in 2025.
“It has been my honor and privilege to serve the patients, community and region,” Yingling said in a Monday news release. “As I look across Marshall Health Network, I am inspired by the talent and positive momentum of our team, and I know that together, we will continue to reach new milestones. I look forward to working with the MHN Board of Directors throughout the selection process for the next CEO to guide our system forward.”
Yingling is the first CEO of the network which includes Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Hoop’s Family Children’s Hospital and Rivers Health and a Marshall Health Physician practice. Marshall University, Marshall Health and Mountain Health Network rolled out the network for the first time last October. It’s described as an integrated academic health system with Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
MHN Board of Directors Chair David Fox said Yingling will be missed.
“As the first CEO of MHN, Dr. Yingling sought to understand the system’s needs as he led us through the challenges of COVID, welcomed Rivers Health to the system, developed relationships that supported growth throughout the region, and unified the health system with Joan C. Edwards Marshall University School of Medicine and Marshall Health to create our newly integrated academic health system,” Fox said. “Perhaps most important, Dr. Yingling instilled a spirit of servant leadership. His kindness, compassion and collaboration have created a strong foundation we will continue to build upon at MHN.”
The MHN board has chosen a search committee from its members and has selected an executive search firm to help in its national search.
