North Marion alumnus Jace Rinehart commits to WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Three highly-productive seasons at USC-Upstate have paved the way for Mannington native Jace Rinehart to return home to West Virginia. Rinehart announced late Friday that will transfer to play his final season of college baseball at West Virginia University.

Rinehart is a two-time All-Big South Conference selection. He played in all 60 games this season for Upstate (36-24). The junior outfielder batted .366 with 17 home runs and 59 runs batted in. His batting average was third-best in the Big South. Rinehart also led the conference in hits (94), doubles (22) and total bases (173).

As a sophomore, Rinehart batted .310 in 42 games. He also appeared in 25 games as a freshman, batting .333.

Rinehart was a two-way standout for the North Marion Huskies. He led North to a Class AA state runner-up finish in his senior season (2021). Rinehart earned the victory on the mound in the state semifinal contest.
